Honoring All Who Served (Co-Ed)

  • Dollar General 400 Spruce Street Leavenworth, Kansas 66048 United States (map)

The Litas of Kansas City have been accepted as participants in the Leavenworth County Veteran's Day Parade. This is a huge honor and after discussing it with the committee, we have been added to their list to be invited annually.

Your significant others are welcome to ride in the parade with us, however, they will ride behind the lady riders. All of the lady riders will stage in the front section of our overall group. Please be prepared for all weather conditions. Please know we will be moving at parade speeds (<5 mph). If you have not ridden in a parade before it is a lot of stop and go, friction zone use, and can be very tiring.

We will meet at the Dollar General (across from the library) located at 400 Spruce Street, Leavenworth KS 66048 at 0730. Kickstands up at 0745 sharp. We will arrive at the staging area no later than 0800. Once we get staged in our designated area, we will park our motorcycles and you are free to catch breakfast until the parade begins. A big part of being in a parade is waiting! The parade officially begins at 1030.

Our motorcycle group will be the 4th motorcycle group staged and as we ride through, there will be a formal introduction that announces our group. They will introduce us by saying, "The Litas are a collective of women around the world who share a love for the open road and two-wheeled and three-wheeled machines. We are a network of strong women who share a love of motorcycles and adventure. We are connected through this one common interest in a sisterhood that will always build other women up, and never tear them down."

Once we get parked in the staging area, coffee and donuts will be available at HQ VFW Post 56, 519 Cherokee Street or at the Riverfront Community Center located at123 S Esplanade. The Veteran's Breakfast at the community center is $6.00.

After the parade is complete, free food will be available at the following locations:
